Anne Margaret Mason (AM) describes to W.R. Mitchell (WRM) life on an Upper Wensleydale farm in the first half of the 20th century, describing in particular haymaking, mowing, hay sledges, droving, cheesemaking, pig and geese keeping, and numerous references throughout the tape to the keeping and use of horses on a farm.  

Henry Cox, Full Transcript Part 1

The interview covers the early life of Henry Cox, his entry into half-time work in the local cotton mill at the age of eleven, and then full-time work from the age of thirteen. The cotton mill was owned by Hector Christy. Working conditions, roles and personalities in the mill from 1894 until 1918 are discussed.
